Soaring green mountains that seem to splash down into an emerald-green sea. Once you’ve gazed at the world famous peaks of Gros Piton and Petit Piton, you won’t be able to tear your eyes away. These majestic cones offer a glimpse into the volcanic origins of St. Lucia, a tantalizing taste of the dynamic forces that formed this beautiful island and that animate her still to this day. Hints of St. Lucia’s fiery nature can be found in the exotic dark sand that covers some of St. Lucia’s many alluring beaches and in the warm sulfur springs that bubble up from deep within the earth. Here you can bathe and take advantage of the soothing waters that have even been rumored to have a therapeutic effect. Those with more adventurous spirits can get as close as you’d ever want to nature’s explosive power with the world’s only “drive-in volcano.” Just another sign that, when you visit St. Lucia, you are entering a universe unlike any other.
Reviews:
We stayed at the Regency but visited the Grande and the Halcyon a few times.
If I remember correctly the Regency has the largest acreage with the largest amount of guests. But it really doesn't feel crowded since there is enough space for everyone. The beach is nice and sandy though the waves are larger than the other two.
The Grande is newer and the structure looks larger. It has a nice feel to it and it has a nice pool area. It is the only resort of the three that has good desserts. The crepe restaurant is delicious. The sand at the beach was a bit rough because of the coral. The water was calmer but the bay was more crowded with boats.
The Halcyon was definitely the smallest and quietest. The Pier restaurant was good. The serving staff definitely moves the slowest at the Halcyon. It would have been too quiet for us here.

“Grande paradise”
We had a fabulous trip at the Grand St. Lucian. I think it was the better of the three resorts on St. Lucia. I would say that 95% of the hotel guests were honeymooners in their low 20's. Being almost 30 I felt just a little out of place with my husband. The grounds were gorgeous and the bay beautiful as well. The native St. Lucian people are genuinely friendly and not fussy with us tourists. The employees were very nice too. It seemed like the maid was always in our room everytime we wanted to lay down and relax. Our fridge was always stocked with water, coke, and coke light. Had a little bit of an ant problem in our room. The bed was very comfy! My hubby and I got open water scuba certified at the resort and the staff on that side was very knowledgeable. I'd recommend getting up early to get a good spot at the pool, it seems like all the umbrella spots and cabanas on the beach are taken by the guests who have their butlers get them early in the AM. We really enjoyed Toscanini's the Italian restaurant, the crepes and pizza at Annabells, and Kimonos at the Regency. There is no shortage of alcohol and they really load you up on Piton. I'd recommend taking the helicopter ride from the airport to the little airport closer to the hotel. The ride in a van is horrible and 1hr. and 50 min long on a very very windy road with crazy drivers. The helicopter cost is 140 per person. Also, Simon says tours (he hangs out on the beach to get business) is great and we really enjoyed the home cooked dinner at Simon's home. Columbian Emeralds in the hotel has great deals on jewelry and Kennith and Mora who work there are beyond hilarious. You'll get great deals on nice watches and diamonds! We loved our vacation and would go back again, but we'll probably be too old for that crowd!
